ormer Premier League striker Alan Shearer has slammed goalkeeper Robert Sanchez for his mistake in Chelsea’s 2-2 Premier League draw with Arsenal.

Mauricio Pochettino’s men find themselves in a surprising 2-0 lead at Stamford Bridge thanks to goals from Cole Palmer and Mykhailo Mudryk. However, the Gunners managed to rescue a point through Declan Rice’s second goal for the club and Leandro Trossard’s leveller late on.

The London derby will be remembered for a number of goalkeeping mistakes with David Raya enduring a difficult afternoon for Arsenal. After being beaten by Mudryk from range, the Spaniard thanked his lucky stars when Palmer failed to capitalise on another error.

Sanchez was next to make a mistake when his poor pass fell to Rice with the England midfielder curling the ball into the empty net to halve the deficit. The Chelsea goalkeeper was then lucky not to concede a penalty when he clattered into Gabriel Jesus.

Despite clearly taking out the Brazilian, no penalty was given and the decision was slammed by Shearer on Match of the Day. Speaking on the BBC programme, the former Newcastle United man said: “They should have (a penalty). There’s no doubt about it.

“Sanchez has just come out and he wipes him out, Jesus. What’s key for me is that he catches him in the head. Look, he goes right through him here. It’s a terrible challenge.
