Frustrated, Bayer Leverkusen’s Granit Xhaka calls draw with Bayern Munich “very bitter”

Yeah, that is just about the same way Bayern felt about the first game between the two teams this season.
It is not often that a team creates many more chances than Bayern Munich. Even the 4-1 battering Bayern suffered against FC Barcelona in the Champions League was not wholly a one-sided affair, with both teams on equal footing for large stretches of the match. But, in the top of the table clash against Bayer Leverkusen, Bayern struggled to gain a foothold from minute 1 and saw the opponents create many gilt edged chances.
However, Die Werkself failed to take a single good chance and so were left with just the one point after a 0-0 draw. Speaking after the match, midfielder Granit Xhaka plainly expressed his annoyance at not translating this dominance into goals:
“It feels like a loss. We put in a great performance, we had so many chances,” the former Arsenal FC player said, via @iMiaSanMia. “When you don’t take your chances against such a top team, it’s very bitter. We should have left the pitch as winners today.”
