FRANCE DEFENDER THEO HERNANDEZ DOUBTFUL FOR GERMANY GAME
As reported by L’Équipe, France and AC Milan left-back Theo Hernandez is now a doubt for Les Bleus’ second game of this international break due to injury.
Didier Deschamps’ squad returned to training yesterday morning following the 2-0 win over Ireland on Thursday evening in the fifth of their ten Euro 2024 qualifiers. However, Hernandez was not among included. He remained in the treatment room along with goalkeeper Mike Maignan, nursing a calf issue picked up during the game at the Parc des Princes, where Theo started alongside his brother Lucas.
Nevertheless, reports are positive about his recovery, with the sports daily stating that his condition does not raise any major concerns. However, the 25-year-old’s fitness will be a concern ahead of the meeting with Germany in just two days’ time.
Hernandez’s AC Milan teammate and France striker, Olivier Giroud, flew back to Milan yesterday morning due to an injury of his own, picked up against Ireland in Paris.
