Former Man United goalkeeper David de Gea ‘is being lined up to make his long-awaited return to LaLiga’ after the Spaniard turned down several clubs following Old Trafford exit
Free agent David de Gea is reportedly being offered the chance to return to Spain with one LaLiga club lining up a move for him.
De Gea has been without a club since the end of June after he was released by Manchester United, after failing to agree new terms at Old Trafford.
Since leaving United where he spent 12 years of his career, De Gea has been linked with big moves to Real Madrid and Bayern Munich.
None of those moves materialised and now De Gea has reportedly been offered another chance to return to Spain to continue playing first-team football.
That’s because Real Betis are lining up a move to sign the 32-year-old, according to Fichajes.
The report also claims that Valencia are also considering an approach for the United great, who has been training by himself since leaving United.
It is also claimed by Fichajes that De Gea is weighing up the offer to return to his home country to play in Spain’s top tier.
The Spanish stopper picked up the Premier League’s Golden Glove award in 2022-23 after a stellar season between the sticks for the Red Devils.
In total, De Gea kept an impressive 17 clean sheets in the English top-flight, but it was not enough to earn him a contract renewal, with the club declining to extend his stay by an optional 12 months.
De Gea’s departure paved the way for the arrival of Andre Onana to United from Inter Milan, who has since taken on the No 1 spot in the side.
