Forgotten former Premier League striker scores incredible goal from near the halfway line to snap eight-game drought in Serie A clash

A former Premier League striker scored a superb goal in Serie A on Friday night.

The forward hadn’t found the net in his previous eight matches but managed to get on the scoresheet in spectacular fashion.

Prior to making the move to Italy last summer, the player had spent his entire club career in England.

He managed to score the only goal of the game as Torino won 1-0 against Empoli.

Torino are in eleventh place in Serie A following their win, while Empoli are 10th.

The ex-Premier League star also received the player of the match award.
