Feyenoord bemused by Marseille’s first bid for Igor Paixão amid interest from England and Italy

June 5, 2025

As per De Telegraaf, Feyenoord have been left bemused by Marseille’s first bid of 20 million euros for Igor Paixão.

The offer, way below the Brazilian’s expected price, has frustrated those at the Rotterdam club, and Dennis te Kloese is not prepared to enter into discussions with the French unless they make a more reasonable attempt.

Paixão was the big hit in Rotterdam last season. The 24-year-old Brazilian, who is under contract with Feyenoord until the summer of 2029, scored 18 goals and provided 19 assists in 47 official matches in the 2024-25 season.

Aside from France, interest has also come from the Premier League and Serie A.

While the prospect of getting the right price for their star is important, Feyenoord are also aiming for key acquisitions of their own. They want a centre-back and a left winger to replace the departures of David Hancko and Paixão.

A left-back may also have to come to Rotterdam. This is the case if Feyenoord cannot sign Hugo Bueno permanently, and Quilindschy Hartman also makes a transfer abroad.
