Fabrizio Romano Gives Bold Prediction on How Mbappé-Real Madrid Saga Ends
Kylian Mbappé has an uncertain future at Paris Saint-Germain. The 24-year-old is playing this 2023–24 season on an expiring contract and will become a free agent next summer.
PSG appeared to be all but convinced that they’d be selling the Frenchman as they gave him an ultimatum: Sign an extension or be sold this summer. However, after Neymar’s exit to Al-Hilal, PSG and the winger were able to make amends.
Furthermore, with the arrival of Ousmane Dembélé and Randal Kolo Muani, the Ligue 1 side is pushing for Mbappé to remain with his hometown club. However, transfer window specialist Fabrizio Romano believes the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner will head to Real Madrid next year.
“I think next summer Kylian Mbappé’s next destination will be Real Madrid,” Romano said.
PSG have bolstered their attack this summer. Still, losing Mbappé would be a significant blow for the French giants, especially if he were to leave as a free agent. Romano has been wrong in the past with the Lionel Messi saga that began with the Argentine staying put at PSG after winning the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
The Mbappé saga is a rollercoaster ride. Last year, it was a curveball to see him extend, and this summer was another one that resulted in him staying. It will be interesting to see how this all plays out.
