Every transfer Leeds United missed out on this summer despite over £100m spend

Leeds United will be happy with the start they have made to the new Premier League campaign. Daniel Farke’s side have one win, one draw and one loss to their name so far, which is the same as Manchester United, for perspective.
Saturday’s 0-0 draw with Newcastle United proved the Whites can mix it with the big boys, especially given their extensive summer business. Ten new players have arrived at Elland Road so far, with the latest suggestion that Leeds are not done yet as we approach the final hours of the window.
But it has been a summer of somewhat frustration, especially given the names linked with a switch to West Yorkshire. Here, LeedsLive recaps the players who Farke has missed out on, as his side battles to retain their Premier League status…
Facundo Buonanotte appeared to be a player, on the surface, who looked tailor-made to help Leeds’ quest to remain in the Premier League.
But after big boys Chelsea came knocking, the offer proved too lucrative and the Brighton man instead opted for North London, completing a season-long loan deal.
An exciting young forward with Champions League experience, Igor Paixao appeared to be another superb target after excelling at Feyenoord in the Eredivisie last year.
But Marseille swooped in and, with the lure of European football to offer, Paixao opted for a move to France, now playing alongside the likes of Mason Greenwood and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
