€75 million Juventus star wants to join Real Madrid
Karim Benzema appeared to pick up another injury in Real Madrid’s 2-0 win over Valencia. It has been a familiar story for the Frenchman this season, who has already dealt with a number of fitness problems. On the night, he provided two assists, before being taken off on the hour mark. The good news is that it does not appear to be a very serious issue.
At the same time though, it is safe to say that Real Madrid cannot continue to rely on Benzema alone, considering his recent injury record. But they do not have any real back up option for the Ballon d’Or holder either.
The only other recognised striker in the squad is Mariano Diaz, who has barely featured this season and is expected to leave when his contract runs out in the summer.
Thus, Real Madrid will definitely need to sign another striker in the summer transfer window. Some rumours have suggested that they will only look for a short-term option, to provide back up to Benzema. But it looks like Dusan Vlahovic is interested in joining Los Blancos.
As reported by Libertad Digital (via AS), Vlahovic has already told his agent that he wants to join Real Madrid.
That might be easier said than done though, as it was only around a year ago that Juventus signed Vlahovic from Fiorentina for a transfer fee believed to be around €75 million.
The striker has a decent goal record for Juventus, but it does feel like he has not been able to show his best form, as Massimiliano Allegri’s side mostly focus on a defence-first style of football at the moment.
The Italian giants also find themselves in big trouble right now. It had looked like Juventus were well on their way to finishing in the top four before being handed a 15-point reduction, which has left them sitting at 13th after 20 league games. Thus, it is very possible that Vlahovic as well as several other big name players could be on their way out in the summer.
