David Moyes raves about West Ham playmaker James Ward-Prowse
West Ham came from behind to pick up a thrilling 3-2 win in the Premier League against Nottingham Forest at the London Stadium on Sunday (12 November).
Goals from Lucas Paqueta, Jarrod Bowen and Tomas Soucek earned all three points for David Moyes’s side as they moved to ninth in the Premier League table.
At 2-2, Soucek headed home from a James Ward-Prowse corner in the 88th minute to give the Hammers a much-needed win after three defeats. After the game, David Moyes was full of praise for Ward-Prowse.
The 29-year-old has been in terrific form since joining the Hammers in the summer from Southampton. He has recorded 10 assists in all competitions, and Moyes has hailed him as “world-class”.
However, the Hammers boss added that if he was Ward-Prowse, he would have been really annoyed that other players haven’t scored enough from his deliveries.
“If I was him, I’d probably be a bit annoyed the lads haven’t scored more from my deliveries. He’s on ten but he could be on 12, 13 or even 14. But I’m really pleased with him. His deliveries are world-class and today we’ve done enough to get the goals,” said Moyes, as quoted by the club’s official website.
Relief
The international break has come at the right time for the Hammers. Prior to this game, they suffered three defeats in a row in the Premier League and Moyes came under pressure once again.
However, the Hammers have done well in European games, and the victory against Forest will give them loads of confidence.
Bowen also scored from a Ward-Prowse corner which shows what an impact he has made for the Hammers since joining the club. Unfortunately, Gareth Southgate continues to ignore him for England selection, and Moyes can do little about it.
