Dan Burn gives hilarious response when asked which Newcastle United player has the best celebration

April 14, 2025

Newcastle United have become a team known for scoring a lot of goals since Eddie Howe took over as manager.

In the last three seasons, fans have consistently been treated to games where the Magpies have scored four, five and even eight on one occasion.

For younger fans, they may not have seen anything like it. Older fans will feel like it is the return of Kevin Keegan’s Entertainers, but a trophy did come back to Tyneside with this group.

Supporters were treated to three more goals in Newcastle United’s win against Leicester City last week, with Jacob Murphy bagging a brace and Harvey Barnes scoring against his former club.

Newcastle’s star striker Alexander Isak has a trademark celebration which has been repeated by his teammates in recent months. Murphy was seen copying Isak’s celebration during the Carabao Cup semi-final win against Arsenal in February.

With six games left in the Premier League season, fans are hoping the Magpies finish the season on a high and return to the Champions League. The players are also hoping to see one particular celebration more often.

Newcastle United players talk about goal celebrations
Eddie Howe was not at St James’ Park for the win against Man United, but he was watching from afar, hopefully hearing the support the 52,000 fans inside the ground gave him.

The Toon boss is known to get animated on the touchline, especially after goals are scored. Howe raced out of his seat to celebrate Dan Burn’s goal at Wembley on the way to their historic Carabao Cup win.

Newcastle players Burn, Kieran Trippier and Sven Botman answered questions from fans for a promotional video with InPost, the trio were asked who had the best celebration in the team.

Immediately, they all said Bruno Guimaraes, because he does “nine celebrations in one,” according to Trippier.

The 34-year-old then recalled Burn’s Champions League goal against PSG last season, where the defender simply put his arms out to his side. On the reasoning for that celebration, Burn hilariously said: “I was just like ‘I am class’”.

Ultimately, the three of them decided that Alan Shearer’s iconic celebration was the best.

Bruno Guimaraes proves Newcastle United players right
Newcastle dominated Manchester United on Sunday afternoon, winning 4-1 at St James’ Park to boost their hopes of qualifying for the Champions League.

Barnes scored a brace, adding to Sandro Tonali’s sensational opener. But the goal Burn, Trippier and Botman may have enjoyed the most was Guimaraes, as his celebration proved they were spot on with what they said.

It was almost as if he had seen the video before. Guimaraes pulled out several celebrations after scoring, while also claiming he was the ‘only Bruno’ in a subtle dig at Bruno Fernandes.

The Magpies have a chance to move into third with a win against Crystal Palace on Wednesday, and Guimaraes will be hoping to get on the scoresheet once again.
