Crystal Palace blow as star is ‘close to rejecting’ staggering £200k-a-week offer for Champions League
Reports in Italy claim Wilfried Zaha will find the lure of Champions League football too good to turn down after becoming a free agent last month.
The 30-year-old is yet to make his mind up on where next he’ll be playing- but a report in the Evening Standard claim Lazio are increasingly confident of securing his services due to offering Champions League football.
Zaha also has an offer from Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al Nassri but sources say he is not too keen on moving to the Arab country at the moment.
Crystal Palace have thrown the kitchen sink at him and offered him a deal worth £200,000-a-week wages, making him outright the club’s most expensive player of all time if he were to sign.
But Zaha who only recently got married is said to be strongly leaning towards fulfilling his dream of playing in the Champions League which will be crucial in his decision-making.
Turkish side Fenerbahce are also reportedly interested and have held talks even though nothing concrete has been established between the player’s entourage and the club at the moment.
There really is little the Eagles can do now but wait for their star man who has scored more than 50 Premier League goals for the club to make up his mind in the coming days.
The Eagles only recently named veteran manager Roy Hodgson as the boss for next season and some of Zaha’s best days have come under the 71-year-old who steered the club from relegation last season after taking over from Patrick Vieira.
