Chalobah links to Bayern grow stronger with loan and buy option possible
Trevoh Chalobah is close to joining Bayern Munich for €30m, according to rumours being strongly reported all over tonight.
Top sources like Florian Plettenberg say that Bayern want Chalobah on a loan with an option to buy, while Fabrizio Romano is saying that part of the deal was rejected. Clearly there’s a lot of work to be done on it this week, but we wouldn’t be surprised to see Chelsea sell following the arrival of Axel Disasi to add to a healthy group of central defenders.
With Benjamin Pavard having departed, the German giants are looking to strengthen their back line, and their manager Thomas Tuchel knows Chalobah well from their shared time at Chelsea.
Plenty of fans at Stamford Bridge were critical of Tuchel and his lack of usage of the academy product at times, but it’s now clear that he does rate the 24 year old, who was first given his break in the team by Tuchel.
