Carney Chukwuemeka to leave Chelsea for Borussia Dortmund

Borussia Dortmund will complete the signing of Carney Chukwuemeka from Chelsea on transfer deadline day, according to Fabrizio Romano. The well-known and well-respected journalist has claimed on X that Chukwuemeka will undergo a medical at German club Dortmund on Monday.

Dortmund have been pushing to get a deal done for Chukwuemeka for a few days, and the Bundesliga outfit have now finally managed to do a deal. The German club will cover the midfielder’s salary in full and will sign the 21-year-old on a loan deal.

Romano wrote on X: “Medical today for Carney Chukwuemeka at Borussia Dortmund, all set to complete loan move from Chelsea. Full salary covered by the German club.”

Chukwuemeka has been on the books of Chelsea since the summer of 2022 when he joined from Premier League rivals Aston Villa. The former England Under-20 international midfielder has scored two goals and given one assist in 32 matches in all competitions for the Blues so far in his career. Both Chelsea and Villa are aiming to finish in the top four of the Premier League table this season.
