Carles Puyol sends message to Barcelona after heartbreaking Champions League defeat

Former Barcelona captain Carles Puyol sent out a message to the Catalan giants after their heartbreaking defeat to Inter in the Champions League.

Hansi Flick’s side were minutes away from reaching the final after taking a 3-2 lead at San Siro but eventually succumbed 4-3 after extra-time.

Puyol was quick to respond on social media after the final whistle. He posted on X: “Proud of this team! Visca Barça!”

Barcelona did themselves proud on an exhausting night in Italy. The visitors came from 2-0 down at half-time to take the lead and were within a whisker of knocking the Italians out.

However, the defeat means Flick’s side have seen their treble dreams ended and it’s Inter who will go on to face either Arsenal or PSG in the final in Munich.

As for Barca, they must rest and recuperate as it’s the Clasico on Sunday and the chance to win La Liga.
