Burnley And Sheffield United With Eyes On Ligue 1 Hitman

April 28, 2023

Burnley and Sheffield United have emerged as potential suitors for Strasbourg striker Habib Diallo ahead of the summer transfer window.

Vincent Kompany’s Burnley have dominated the Championship this season and have been promoted by winning the league.

Sheffield United also confirmed their promotion to the top flight this week and work is now under way at both clubs for the summer transfer window.

The two newly promoted sides are looking to add more goals to their squad ahead of their return to the top flight of English football.

And according to French sports daily L’Equipe, both clubs are considering a move for Strasbourg striker Diallo.

The 27-year-old attacker has scored 17 times in 31 Ligue 1 games this season and has been heavily linked with a move away from the French side.

Strasbourg rejected an offer from Salernitana last summer but his value has increased over the season.

The French club are now looking for a fee of around €15m to €20m, especially with clubs in England being interested in him.

Both Burnley and Sheffield United are likely to now have the financial muscle to sign Diallo in the summer.
