Bruno Fernandes sends perfect one-word message after Manchester United win at Aston Villa

The Man United dressing room is showing signs of togetherness after a number of incidents under Erik ten Hag

Manchester United are finding form at the right time under Erik ten Hag following a difficult Christmas period. The Reds are now back in the hunt for Champions League football with three months of action remaining.

Sunday’s 2-1 win at Aston Villa made it six victories in their last seven fixtures. Having defeated Wigan and Newport in the FA Cup last month, United have beaten Wolves, West Ham and Villa in February.

Ten Hag’s men are now sixth in the Premier League table, six points behind Tottenham in fourth. With 14 games remaining, there’s plenty of football left and Champions League qualification remains on the cards.

Questions have been asked of those in the dressing room at Old Trafford, but if celebrations after Scott McTominay’s goal are anything to go by, the team is united.

The Scotland international came off the bench to snatch all three points for United against one of their top four rivals. McTominay took to Instagram to celebrate his winner, posting an image of him celebrating alongside Rasmus Hojlund.

A number of United players commented on the post but Bruno Fernandes’ comment is perhaps the most eye-catching one. The Portuguese playmaker wrote: “Inevitable” followed by a chuckling emoji and fire emoji.

“(It meant) Bruno could become more of a midfielder then in the offensive,” ten Hag said of McTominay’s introduction. “I understand the players see the spaces and go for goal in such moments because they are offensive, they want to score goals.

“But I think it was better in certain situations to keep the ball and let the opponent run, drag them out and then it will open up. “And so that was more the idea to bring an extra midfielder there.

“But with Scott, you have a player who can score a goal.”
