BRIGHTON POST BAD NEWS FOR TOTTENHAM ON THEIR OFFICIAL TWITTER ACCOUNT
Tottenham fans have received some bad news from Brighton’s official Twitter account ahead of Saturday’s Premier League clash.
Well, Spurs welcome the Seagulls to N17 this Saturday in what is a crucial game regarding the fight for Champions League qualification.
Tottenham currently find themselves fourth with 50 points to their name after 29 outings.
However, Brighton are just four points behind, and have two games in hand over the north Londoners.
That is worrying for Spurs, as they will be shoved out of the top four if Roberto De Zerbi wins both of those games, something that seems likely given the outstanding form Brighton find themselves in.
Now, Tottenham have received the opposite of a boost ahead of the clash, as Brighton confirm on Twitter that Alexis Mac Allister and Moises Caicedo will be fit for the game.
There were doubts over Caicedo after he suffered an injury in Tuesday’s 2-0 win over Bournemouth, which looked like quite a serious incident as he left the field in the 80th minute.
Mac Allister also suffered an injury at the Vitality Stadium, which initially gave Tottenham fans hope that Brighton would be without two of their most important players for Saturday’s clash in N17.
However, that hope has now been squashed, with both set to take part.
TOTTENHAM HAVE TO BEAT BRIGHTON
It may sound simplistic, but Spurs cannot afford to lose to Brighton on Saturday given the fact the Seagulls have two games in hand.
If De Zerbi overcomes Cristian Stellini, it would take Brighton just one point behind Spurs with those two games in hand still yet to be played, which puts them in the driving seat when it comes to a top four place.
With just eight games remaining for Tottenham after Saturday, that would not be a comfortable position for the north Londoners to be in, to say the least – especially as Manchester United also have two games in hand.
