Borussia Dortmund want Man Utd to pay £5.2m of Jadon Sancho’s wages during loan stint

German giants Borussia Dortmund are interested in re-signing Manchester United winger Jadon Sancho on loan, provided the Red Devils pay two-thirds of his wages, according to The Times.

The 23-year-old has been deemed surplus to requirements at United since his public outburst towards manager Erik ten Hag in September. He accused the Dutchman of lying that he was dropped for his poor training attitude before the Arsenal game.

Sancho has been suspended indefinitely over the past few months and Dortmund are now prepared to offer him an escape route on a temporary basis. They are interested in a reunion, but a deal would highly depend on United’s salary contribution.

Dortmund are only willing to pay one-third of his wages for the next six months thus £2.6 million. The Bundesliga heavyweights want United to contribute £5.2m during the loan stint. It is left to be seen whether the club will accept the proposal.

Sancho expected to leave on loan this winter

The England international has shown no remorse for his public statement in September. He erased the post from his X account, but has refused to apologise to the manager. Hence, there is no way back for him and his future could lie elsewhere.

Sancho prefers a return to Dortmund where he was highly successful. The attacker could recapture his form with a move back to the Bundesliga. It could also help United in the summer. They could recoup some of the £73 million fee paid for him in 2021.

United are eyeing at least £50m for a permanent exit. In our opinion, the Red Devils could sanction Sancho’s move to Dortmund, but they may want the German club to make a higher wage contribution. A fresh round of negotiations could be held.
