Bayern Munich release new 2022/23 away kit

July 8, 2022

Bayern Munich have unveiled their new 2022/23 away kit, taking inspiration from last season’s concept of bringing the city of Munich with them on their travels.

The shirt is all built around the Münchner Kindl, the famous city emblem, which sits on the back of the neck of the jersey.

It’s otherwise a very simple, classy design. Bayern and shirt partners adidas have gone for a plain white base with gold accents for the sponsor and club logos, three adidas stripes and the cuff of the sleeves.

That colourway carries over into the shorts and socks, which are both white with gold accents.

“With this jersey, we want to demonstrate our ties to our home, as we did last year,” said Bayern vice-chairman Jan-Christian Dreesen.

“FC Bayern is proud of its Munich roots. In addition, we are closely connected with the city in many joint campaigns and social projects, such as aid for refugees from Ukraine or our Reds against Racism initiative. This sort of collaboration has an impact far beyond football.”

Munich mayor Dieter Reiter added: “FC Bayern Munich has always been an outstanding ambassador for our city. That’s why I’m pleased that Bayern are also expressing their connection with their home city, in which they have such strong roots, with the city emblem on their jersey. That’s a real win for both sides.”
