Bayern Munich closing in on Assan Ouédraogo
Is Bayern Munich eyeing up another midfielder from Schalke 04?
According to a report from Abendzeitung journalist Patrick Strasser and also Sportbuzzer, Bayern Munich is close to inking a deal for Schalke 04 midfielder Assan Ouédraogo.
Once the signature of the 18-year-old midfielder is secured, the Bavarians will loan Ouédraogo back to Schalke 04 for the 2024/25 campaign:
According to report, Bayern are on the verge of completing the signing of Assan Ouédraogo. All that’s missing is the player’s signature. Long-term deal. Ouédraogo will then be loaned back to Schalke for a year to get match practice and finish school at home. Fee up to €15m.
There is always a transfer yin to Bayern Munich’s yang, however. Sky Sport journalist Florian Plettenberg is reporting there has not been a final “yes” as of yet:
⤵️ Nothing has changed despite other reports: Tendency towards FC Bayern as revealed days ago.
➡️ But there is definitely no final commitment to Bayern yet. No final „Yes“ from the player to Bayern. Confirmed again.
Ouedraogo hopes for a conversation with Vincent #Kompany. After that, there will be a decision. Or earlier, if Bayern doesn’t speed up now.
Ouédraogo would be another young piece for the future of the club — or a young asset Bayern Munich could develop into a valuable commodity for the transfer market. Either way, the Bavarians seem to have made a wise investment.
