Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund battle for Fenerbahçe’s Ferdi Kadıoğlu
Bit left field, but we’ll see where it goes from here
Despite limping on with a short-staffed squad, Bayern Munich coach Thomas Tuchel recently revealed which positions need strengthening in the January transfer window: right-back, center-back, and defensive midfield. The Bavarians have now set their sights on Fenerbahçe’s Ferdi Kadıoğlu and will have to duke it out with Borussia Dortmund.
Borussia Dortmund are eyeing a January move for Fenerbahçe’s Ferdi Kadıoğlu (24), but are set to face competition from Bayern, also interested in the Turkish international who can play right-back, left-back and in midfield. Fenerbahçe value Kadıoğlu at up to €30m.
The Rekordmeister was also linked with Takehiro Tomiyasu but Arsenal FC coach Mikel Arteta shut down those rumors, while Feyenoord defender Lutsharel Geertuida was a name that was lobbied during the summer. The hunt for defensive reinforcements stems from the unwise (to put it lightly) decision to loan out Josip Stanišić to Bayer Leverkusen.
