Bayern Munich 2-0 Wolfsburg: Musiala and Muller score in regulation win
Two first-half goals were enough for Bayern Munich to pick up their second Bundesliga win in a row as they comfortably saw off Wolfsburg on Sunday afternoon.
The German champions, who began their title defence with a 6-1 victory at Eintracht Frankfurt last week, took the lead when Jamal Musiala broke free on the edge of the box to fire in after some scrappy build-up play.
Their advantage was doubled just before half time by as Alphonse Davies cut the ball back to Joshua Kimmich, whose placed shot was diverted into the net by Thomas Muller.
Summer arrival Sadio Mane twice had the ball back in the net, but on both occasions his strikes were ruled out for offside. Mane was again deployed through the middle as Robert Lewandowski’s replacement, with Serge Gnabry in the hole and Muller and Musiala on the flanks.
Musiala was one of Bayern‘s best players alongside the solid Benjamin Pavard and Kimmich and became the youngest German player ever to reach 14 Bundesliga goals at 19 years and 169 days – only Jadon Sancho (19 years and 145 days) has achieved the feet at a younger age.
Bayern sit first in the Bundesliga after two comprehensive victories, with rivals Borussia Dortmund just behind in second after tight victories over Bayer Leverkusen and Freiburg.
