Barcelona will move to sign ‘Brazilian Messi’ soon, player clear about his choice

January 7, 2024

After securing the services of Vitor Roque, Barcelona are unlikely to move away from its mission of unearthing new talents in South America.

In fact, the club, for a while now, have been keeping an eye on their next big target in the form of Willian Estevao, a Palmeiras whizkid seemingly emerging as the next hottest prospect in Brazilian football.

Although Estevao has yet to make the same kind of impact as his compatriot Endrick or even Vitor Roque, he has already attracted a series of top clubs across the globe, including Barcelona.

Barcelona will move to sign Estevao

According to a recent report from Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona will make a move for Willian Estevao, nicknamed Messinho.

Barça have been tracking Messinho for well over a year and every report they have received from the technical staff has been quite positive.

In fact, the Catalans consider Estevao a unique player, who can add more to the club’s offensive unit.

At just 16, the player has already made his debut for Palmeiras. However, with top clubs like PSG, Chelsea and Arsenal also interested, Barcelona cannot afford to wait longer and bide their time if they are to sign the youngster.

Estevao keen on joining Barcelona

The only reason Barcelona have not been able to close the signing with Palmeiras is the club’s economic complication.

The Blaugrana are not in a position to prioritise Messinho, especially when the club are desperately seeking the services of a new midfielder.

However, a saving grace for Barcelona is the fact that Willian Estevao is keen on moving to Camp Nou, despite interest from other top clubs across Europe.

Estevao’s agent was reported to have arrived in Barcelona to hold talks with the club officials. Palmeiras, for their part, have promised the player to respect his wishes, so it will be interesting to see how things transpire in the coming months.
