BARCELONA TRIO TO MISS CÁDIZ CLASH THROUGH SUSPENSION
Two high-profile members of the first-team setup at Barcelona will play no part in the club’s next outing.
As much coming owing to their exploits on Saturday night.
Xavi’s troops are of course currently locked in action, in the club’s La Liga return on the back of the final international break of the campaign.
Late in proceedings in Catalunya, they boast a narrow one-goal advantage over Las Palmas, owing to a strike on the part of Raphinha just shy of the hour mark.
On an otherwise positive night to date, however, the Blaugrana have also been dealt not one, but two blows on the personnel front.
The first came shortly after Barca took the lead, when Iñigo Martínez was shown a yellow card.
His fifth caution of the season, the experienced defender is now facing up to a one-game suspension.
And as much was soon followed by Robert Lewandowski joining Iñigo in the referee’s notebook, also marking his fifth booking of the La Liga season.
Both, as a result, will be forced to watch on from afar upon Barcelona making the trip to relegation-battling Cádiz on Saturday, April 13th.
*Update* – João Cancelo, remarkably, has since also been booked, meaning he too will be suspended next time out.
