Barcelona ‘play the best in football in La Liga’ – says Diego Simeone after Copa del Rey draw

The Atletico boss has shared his thoughts

Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone has been generous in his praise of Barcelona after seeing his team paired with the Catalans in the Copa del Rey semi-finals.

Simeone was asked about the draw ahead of this weekend’s round of La Liga matches and was happy to hurl praise at Hansi Flick and his man.

“Barcelona are team that plays the best in LaLiga,” he told reporters.

“They attack brilliantly, their numbers speak for themselves about the season they are having.”

Barcelona and Atletico are set to see a lot of each other in the coming weeks in key games in La Liga and the Copa del Rey.

The first meeting is at Montjuic on Febuary 25 in the first leg of their Copa del Rey semi-final, before a meeting at the Wanda Metropolitano in the league on March 16.

The second leg of the Copa tie is then scheduled for April 2, with the winners going on to face either Real Madrid or Real Sociedad.
