Barcelona defender’s social media gesture betrays his excitement on 22-year-old winger’s potential move

June 20, 2025

FC Barcelona have already completed their first signing of the summer 2025 as they officially announced the arrival of the RCD Espanyol goalkeeper Joan Garcia yesterday.

However, the Catalans’ work in the market is far from over, and there is one more position that they are looking to strengthen with high priority, i.e., the left wing.

The Blaugranes have also made a lot of progress in this regard, as recent reports indicate that they have already reached a personal agreement with the Athletic Club winger Nico Williams.

Alejandro Balde likes Fabrizio Romano’s post
There is no doubt that this addition to the Barcelona squad would be a very exciting one for the fans. However, it is not only the fans who are excited about this potential transfer, as some of the players also seem to be keenly looking forward to it.

As SPORT has noted, this is particularly the case with the fullback Alejandro Balde, who liked a post by the journalist Fabrizio Romano in which the Italian journalist had revealed the news of an agreement between Nico and Barcelona.

The defender had previously liked another post by another journalist, Florian Plettenburg, in which he had revealed that the Blaugrana side was the first priority of the player.

Other Barcelona players also link with Nico on social media
In addition to Balde, Lamine Yamal had also shared his excitement about this potential signing. Only a few minutes after news of a meeting between Nico’s agent and Deco broke out, the young winger shared a picture of himself with the Athletic Club winger on his social media.

Similarly, Raphinha, who will perhaps be the player most affected by this new signing, as they both will compete for the left wing spot, also started following the player on Instagram.

Thus, there will be no shortage of players keen to welcome him into the dressing room once this operation to bring Nico Williams to Barcelona is completed.
