Aston Villa deny any talks with Barcelona for 32-year-old star

The growing speculation linking Emiliano Martinez with a move to Barcelona appears to be completely unfounded, at least for now.

Despite widespread media chatter suggesting the Aston Villa goalkeeper could be on his way to Camp Nou, the reality is far less dramatic.

As of now, there has been no contact, no negotiations, and no formal approach from Barcelona regarding the Argentine shot-stopper.

The rumour mill had gone into overdrive following images of Martinez seemingly saying farewell at Villa Park during the final home game of the season. That emotional moment sparked widespread belief that a transfer was imminent.
