Andoni Iraola pleased with impact of substitutes v Newcastle

Dominic Solanke put Cherries ahead on the hour mark, before Iraola turned to his bench, introducing Luis Sinisterra and Adam Smith.

Dango Ouattara was then brought on as Solanke doubled the advantage, before Joe Rothwell came on in the closing moments.

Sinisterra in particular caught the eye, going close on no fewer than four occasions to following up his goal at Manchester City the previous weekend with another goal.

The Colombia international also played a big part in Solanke’s second, his header coming back off the post before Cherries’ striker turned in.

Discussing the impact from his substitutes, Iraola told the Daily Echo: “I think Luis had a lot of chances to score, Dango kept the intensity, the attacking greed, attack the spaces, go one against one, force them to come backwards.

“And even when we scored, don’t leave them to gain the space, try to keep them far from our box.

“I think we did it well.”

Cherries sit 17th in the Premier League table after 12 matches, three points clear of the relegation zone.
