Ancelotti on Real Madrid, Mbappe’ and Milan ‘destiny’
Carlo Ancelotti is ‘very happy’ at Real Madrid regardless of the Kylian Mbappé situation, opens a new B&B in his old house and reflects on his ‘destiny’ at Milan.
The coach was back in his home town of Parma for a very special occasion, the opening of a new Bed and Breakfast set in his old house.
It will be run by his children and decorated with some of the memorabilia from his life and career, although some came through these halls that will not be there for guests.
“I have great memories in this home. I’m glad my children are taking care of it for the future, so it remains an unforgettable place.
“I am fond of moments more than things. Here in Parma, I slept with the Champions League trophy in both 2003 and 2007, generously leant to me by Adriano Galliani,” he told Sky Sport Italia.
Those were two of his Champions League victories, both for Milan, while he went on to win another two for Real Madrid.
Ancelotti only recently signed a new contract to extend his stay at Real Madrid until June 2026, despite the proposal to take over the Brazil job.
“Football is a passion and remains a passion for me. I watch all football. I am very happy in Madrid,” assured the Italian.
The coach was told that it will be even better at the Bernabeu when Mbappé joins them as a free agent from Paris Saint-Germain next season.
“The important thing is Real Madrid, it’s a great club and I am very proud to be there. Milan and Real Madrid are historic clubs, they won more Champions League trophies than anyone else, I was fortunate enough to coach both.
“Football is a sport where you must be able to adapt, because you can work with great champions or players who don’t have those characteristics. Dialogue is also very important in relations with people.”
Monza CEO Galliani, who was at Milan for over 30 years with Silvio Berlusconi, revealed that if Pippo Inzaghi had converted a penalty against Torino in November 2001, then Milan would not have fired Fatih Terim and Ancelotti would’ve probably taken over at Parma instead.
“That is destiny. If I had signed for Parma that Friday, all this probably would not have happened. There’s no point looking back, we have to look forward.”
Finally, the 64-year-old was asked what happiness represents for him.
“Happiness is peace.”
