Alexander Isak drops bombshell Newcastle United transfer hint to Swedish media
Alexander Isak has downplayed speculation regarding his Newcastle United future following the 4-0 win over Ipswich Town.
The Swede netted a ruthless hat-trick at Portman Road to put the Magpies on the cusp of the European spots. That took Isak’s tally to the season to 11 across all competitions, with 10 from his last 11 outings.
A busy festive period will place a heavy burden on the 25-year-old given Callum Wilson’s continued injury woes. But if Newcastle can keep Isak fit and scoring goals, Eddie Howe will feel as though a successful season is on the cards.
However, that will also ramp up the rumour mill next summer – but the Magpies are in the driver’s seat given Isak’s contract situation. Arsenal were reportedly interested earlier this year but, with three-and-a-half years left to run on his deal, Newcastle could drive a hard bargain.

Speaking to Swedish media, the Toon striker refused to discuss his future and vowed to enjoy a “fantastic season” on Tyneside. Isak told Fotbollskanalen: “Throughout my career, I have never commented on rumours during the season (regarding reported transfer interest). There have been many such years where that (moving clubs) has been talked about.
