Ajax reject initial West Ham bid for Kudus
According to multiple reports, West Ham have had an initial bid for Mohammed Kudus rejected by Ajax.
The 18-year-old attacking midfielder, who has been known to play well as a wide or a central attacker as well, was reportedly of interest to Brighton and Hove Albion, but it is believed the Ghanaian decided against making that move. West Ham expressed their interest only a few days ago, and it has been said that they were hoping to get the deal done for around £40 million.
Kudus was likely seen at first as a suitable candidate to replace Lucas Paqueta at the London Stadium, but the Brazilian’s move to Manchester City has collapsed. Nonetheless, Kudus is a highly talented young attacker, tipped to turn into a fantastic player in the coming seasons.
As it stands, West Ham technical director Tim Steidten remains in Holland to try and reach an agreement with the Dutch giants. The Hammers recently completed a transfer from Ajax, signing midfielder Edson Alvarez.
