Achraf Hakimi Ranks Joint Top in Ligue 1 Assists Standings

Hakimi was nominated for the CAF Awards 2023 Player of the Year.

Moroccan international and Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) right-back Achraf Hakimi stood out in his team’s clash against Montpellier, providing two assists and becoming the player with the joint most assists in Ligue 1.

Hakimi now has four assists in 11 games, with his performance earning him a place in Ligue 1’s team of the week.

He shares his spot with Florian Sotoca of RC Lens, Moses Simon of FC Nantes, and Caio Henrique of AS Monaco.

Hakimi has been putting in impressive performances for both PSG and his national team.

The Moroccan right-back, whose market worth is estimated to be 65 million euros, is among the 10 most expensive defenders in the world, according to Transfermarkt, a German website specializing in football transfers.

He was also nominated in the “Player of the Year” category at the CAF Awards 2023, which will be presented on December 11 in Marrakech.

Alongside Hakimi, other Moroccan players were nominated in the same category such as Azzedine Ounahi, Hakim Ziyech, and Sofyan Amrabat.

In addition to his performances for PSG in Ligue 1 and the UEFA Champions League, Hakimi was also crucial for Morocco’s national team in their historic run to the semi-finals of the 2022 Qatar World Cup.
