AC Milan prioritise move for Charles De Ketelaere over Hakim Ziyech

July 20, 2022

AC Milan are prioritising finalising a move for Club Brugge star Charles De Ketelaere over Hakim Ziyech, 90min understands.

The reigning Serie A champions have been surprisingly quiet in the summer transfer window thus far, with their only notable signing being Divock Origi – who was a free agent after leaving Liverpool at the end of the 2021/22 season.

Business looks set to finally pick up for Milan in the coming weeks however, as 90min can report that Milan are confident of finalising a deal to sign De Ketelaere very soon.

The highly-rated 21-year-old has long been expected to join I Rossoneri this summer having enjoyed a breakthrough 2021/22 campaign in the Belgian Pro League, scoring 18 goals in all competitions.

Earlier this month 90min reported that the attacking midfielder has agreed personal terms with Milan, and De Ketelaere was said to have been enticed by playing in the UEFA Champions League with the seven time winners.

Attempts to get the deal fully over the line have taken precedence over the club’s reported interest in Ziyech. The Chelsea attacker looks likely to leave Stamford Bridge this summer following the club’s big money signing of Raheem Sterling.
