AC Milan and Bayern Munich Eclipse PSG in Chase for Italian Defensive Star

January 17, 2024

In the January transfer window, Paris Saint-Germain actively seeks a center-back as the capital club confronts the challenge of being without Milan Skriniar for months, putting their depth to the test. However, PSG’s pursuit of Alessandro Buongiorno may be losing momentum.

Bayern Munich ramping up interest because of the issues at their center-back position.

Matthijs de Ligt’s knee injury and Kim Min-jae’s absence, as he participates in the Asian Cup of Nations with South Korea, compel the Bavarian side to actively seek reinforcement this month.

As a result, the outlet puts the Torino FC defender on the German club’s radar despite the formalized signing of Eric Dier. However, the task still promises to be quite challenging for the Bundesliga side, even if there is interest.

Furthermore, AC Milan has taken a giant step in the race for the signing of Buongiorno in recent days. Club leaders have already met with Torino president Urbano Cairo to complete the signing as quickly as possible.

The Milan club is ready to offer an amount of €25 million plus young striker Lorenzo Colombo, currently on loan at Monza. The player took a stand last summer, rejecting a move to Atalanta due to his strong affinity for Torino.

He now entertains the possibility of joining the Rossoneri, particularly as Euro 2024 approaches, aiming to position himself as a potential candidate for the Italian national team. Currently, a meeting is underway in Turin, during which Buongiorno is engaging in discussions with his agent.
