Puyol praises Mourinho: “We’re talking about a great coach”

FC Barcelona legend Carles Puyol praised José Mourinho and talked about those infamous Clásicos where Real Madrid and Barça collided.

“We’re talking about a great coach in Jose Mourinho. I met him at Barcelona when I was in the youth academy and I moved up to the first team. We could already see that he knew a lot about football. Then he built a great career and went on to Real Madrid. We were at a very strong point in our careers; I remember a great rivalry,” said the former Barça captain.

“Back then, aside from Pep Guardiola and Jose Mourinho, and Messi and Cristiano, they were two great teams. We’ll see how they do. I still think Barcelona has a very good team and will be able to have a good season. With Mourinho, Real Madrid can be even stronger,” he added.

Real Madrid are hoping to see an improved version of the team now that Mourinho is in charge. Will he be able to change the culture like he did during his first stint?
