Julian Alvarez: PSG Has Agreement With Atletico Madrid For Barcelona Target
Back-to-back Champions League winner Paris Saint-Germain reportedly has an agreement with Atletico Madrid in relation to FC Barcelona target Julian Alvarez.
Transfer market experts such as Fabrizio Romano reported on Friday how the Catalans have made a bid of $116 million (€100 million) for the Argentine.
This came on the same day Anthony Gordon’s $93 million (€80 million) transfer from Newcastle United was announced, as Barça begun a new era of busy buying activity akin to that of pre-pandemic yesteryear.
It’s hard to keep up with what are often referred to as the “state-run” clubs in Spain, however, and PSG are a genuine threat to Barça’s hopes of landing Alvarez.
As explained by SPORT, PSG has confirmed its interest in Alvarez but asked for formal negotiations to be postponed until after the Champions League final.
PSG clinched that on penalties against Premier League winners Arsenal after drawing 1-1 in regular time. And the decision to not have the spectacle in Budapest distracted by transfer rumors that might trigger internal tensions proved to be a masterstroke.
