Thomas Frank clashed with four players before eventually being sacked by Tottenham

February 12, 2026

Thomas Frank has been sacked as Tottenham head coach with Spurs 16th in the Premier League after a dismal 2-1 defeat to Newcastle United on Tuesday

Thomas Frank has been shown the door at Tottenham after a dismal run left the club languishing in 16th place in the Premier League. The Danish manager endured several fractious relationships with players during his turbulent tenure in north London.

Despite only making the switch from Brentford in June, Frank has been given his marching orders by Spurs following a winless streak spanning eight matches. The search for his successor is now underway.

Tuesday evening’s 2-1 loss to Newcastle United proved to be the final straw. Combined with other results that night, Tottenham now find themselves precariously positioned just five points above the drop zone.

During his stint at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, Frank didn’t always see eye to eye with his entire squad. Mirror Football examines four Spurs players who had confrontations with the now-dismissed manager.
