Max Eberl takes marching orders on seeking out loans for Bayern Munich

August 22, 2025

Bayern Munich board member for sport Max Eberl knows his role within the club and when the supervisory board tells him to go find players to bring in on a loan assignment, Eberl will seek to do just that.

The reports of Uli Hoeneß eschewing full transfers in favor of loans was not news to Eberl.

”First of all, what Uli says publicly is also addressed internally. I don’t hear about it through the media. The club has decided that we want to save money. We sold Kingsley Coman, and we couldn’t sign Nick Woltemade. That’s why I was given the task of bringing in a player on loan. We now have to get creative and find a solution,” Eberl said (as captured by @iMiaSanMia). “The transfer window is still open. We still have work to do because we don’t have enough depth in attack to compete in all three competitions with success. We’ve been tasked with looking for a player on loan, which is not easy. We’re trying to find a good and creative solution. Other than that, the team is well equipped.

“We won’t bury our heads in the sand. We’ll try to find creative solutions. We have to look at what quality we want to add to our squad without being reckless. Buying is easier than loaning. At the end of the transfer window, very, very strange things often happen.”

That task to get good players who fit on a loan, however, is not exactly an easy one to complete. Eberl will have his work cut out for him.

Bayern Munich will kick off its Bundesliga season against RB Leipzig in what should be a fun start to the league season.

The Bavarians are seeking to defend their status as reigning champions, while RB Leipzig is going to look to build a great base of talent into a cohesive team — something that has not always proven to be the easiest task in East Germany.
