The Premier League’s basement boys Southampton could be set for quite a January window with an ambitious move for Real Madrid wonderkid Endrick – but could face competition.

The Brazilian, 18, has emerged as a transfer target for the struggling Saints ahead of the winter window opening. Endrick only arrived at the Santiago Bernabeu in the summer in a £60m move from Palmeiras.

But his opportunities have been limited this term. He has made ten appearances in all competitions, scoring twice, but he has yet to start a game, while his league appearances have been limited to late cameos.
