Mikel Arteta gives injury update ahead of key Newcastle clash

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has spoken to the media ahead of Saturday’s Premier League clash with Newcastle at St James’ Park.

The Gunners will be hoping to get back to winning ways in the league after dropping points in consecutive games against Bournemouth and Liverpool. The same can be said of Newcastle, who are without a win in their last four Premier League games.

This fixture resulted in a win for Newcastle last season, in very controversial circumstances. The Magpies’ winner was allowed to stand despite VAR looking very closely at three different incidents, leading to an explosive Arteta presser in which he heavily criticized the refereeing.

Arsenal will be hoping for a more comfortable match this time around and will face a Newcastle side in much poorer form.
