Barcelona making positive progress in renewal talks with midfield maestro – Romano
Barcelona are working to renew the contracts of a number of players whose current deals stand to expire in the summer of 2026.
As such, one of the main priorities for the Blaugrana is to tie down the future of midfield maestro Pedri.
The 21-year-old Spanish sensation’s current contract runs down in under two years and given how crucial he is to the team, Barcelona are eager to seal the deal on an extension for him.
Talks progressing positively
Now, Fabrizio Romano has come out with an update regarding the contract talks going on between Barcelona and Pedri.
As reported already, Barça director Deco met with the midfielder’s agent, Hector Peris, earlier this week to discuss a new contract.
Now Romano states that there are positive feelings within both camps after the latest meeting.
Barcelona are making steady progress in their efforts to tie down the 21-year-old midfield gem and both parties are eager to get the deal done, which bodes well for the club.
One of the best in his position, Pedri is showcasing why he is such an integral part of the project that Barcelona are building, establishing himself as the heartbeat of this team under Hansi Flick.
Having put his injury woes behind him this season, the former Las Palmas wonderkid is performing close to his best, as was seen this week against Bayern Munich when he produced an absolute masterclass helping the Catalans win 4-1.
Barcelona consider Pedri a very crucial part of the project and with the player’s camp also looking to get the renewal done, it might not be long before an agreement is finalised.
