Lens take aim at Roma following Kevin Danso’s cancelled transfer
RC Lens have confirmed that Kevin Danso’s (25) transfer to AS Roma has fallen through after the defender failed his medical with the Italian club. The Austrian international was set to move on loan with an option to buy for €25 million.
Lens did not hide their disappointment with their Italian counterparts in their press release writing “We are wondering about the deeper reasons for the cancellation of this transfer of a meticulously monitored player who has played more than 30 matches on French and international pitches.”
Kevin Danso back in Lens’ plans
Lens have further detailed that Danso who was not in the squad for last night’s defeat to Panathinaikos will soon be back in the starting lineup, although he remains a doubt for the match against AS Monaco on Sunday.
This is not the first time this summer that Lens have seen a transfer fail to materialise after a failed medical. El Aynaoui’s move to Monaco collapsed after a knee injury ligament was reportedly detected during his medical.
Foot Mercato went as far as saying that the former Nancy midfielder was expected to undergo knee ligament surgery, meaning El Aynaoui would miss the better part of the next Ligue 1 season.
