Barcelona tie two youngsters down to new contracts
La Liga giants Barcelona have on Tuesday announced contract renewals for two of the club’s up-and-coming young stars.
The pair in question? Antonio Martín, and Jan Molina.
For those not familiar with their names, Martín and Molina are two of the latest crop of highly-regarded breakthrough talent in the Barcelona academy.
The former is a 19-year-old centre-forward, who has been plying his trade with the Blaugrana since 2018, after making his way to Catalunya’s capital from Málaga.
Molina, meanwhile, also 19, is a midfielder who linked up with Barca back in the summer of 2015, from Nàstic Manresa.
Both players recently saw their contract terms with La Masia come to a close, with negotiations, in turn, having been kicked into gear over respective renewals.
And, as alluded to above, on Tuesday, such talks have borne fruit.
As per an official statement across Barca Atlètic’s website and social media platforms:
‘FC Barcelona has reached an agreement with players Jan Molina and Antonio Martín to extend their contract with the Club for another season. Both players are closing their respective youth stages and will remain linked to the Blaugrana until 30 June 2025.’
