Bayern Munich’s Leroy Sané knows the quality on German national team

Bayern Munich star Leroy Sané is feeling good about where things stand under Julian Nagelsmann for the German national team.

“It’s looking good so far. Julian knows where I stand. We have a clear plan that we are going to implement. I’m very optimistic and certain it will work. If I perform to my best, the coach knows exactly what he will get from me,” Sané told kicke “The atmosphere is good. We have a great mix. We get on well on the pitch, but also off it. We need the same energy at the start as we did in the two test matches. Then all doors will be open to us, even to win the tournament if everything goes well.

“We have enormous footballing quality, we have a great squad. We just have to bring the same energy onto the pitch as we did against France and the Netherlands, then the security and quality will follow. If we do, then we are one of the favorites. The special spirit that was missing [in the past tournaments] is there now. We have to protect that energy in the next few weeks, that’s so important.

As for what Sané’s role in the tourney will ultimately be, the Bayern Munich star just wants to contribute and be a leader.

“I want to lead the way with performances. I want the coach and the team to know that they can rely on me. Of course, my goal is to play as much as possible. We have a strong squad in which everyone will find their role and get enough playing time. When I perform at my best, the coach knows exactly what he is getting from me,” Sané said.
