Bayern Munich exec Max Eberl talks personnel strategy for current roster

May 18, 2024

As the days go on, Bayern Munich’s squad planning for the 2024/25 campaign will become more intense.

For club executive Max Eberl, discussions with the team’s current players — like Joshua Kimmich — have been ongoing.

“Of course we’re speaking to the players. Bayern Munich is a big club. Players can decide to stay at Bayern regardless of the new coach. In the end, we want to find a coach, talk to him about the players and talk to the players,” Eberl told Bild (as captured by @iMiaSanMia). “Even without a coach, we’re exploring the market, we have players in mind, we have ideas. We’re not just sitting there and doing nothing waiting for the coach.”

Eberl and his crew will be busy this summer and Kimmich could be a player on the verge of leaving — and if he does, the dominoes on the club’s transition to the next phase will begin to fall.
