Kylian Mbappe will earn €14 million each season at Real Madrid with €30 million in bonuses

February 20, 2024

Kylian Mbappe’s transfer to Real Madrid is all but closed, pending official confirmation from the Los Blancos.

Now, a lot has been said about the Frenchman’s contract with the team and SER has affirmed that the forward will pocket a fixed salary of €14 million each season in addition to €30 million in bonuses.

The report further claims that the 25-year-old will be employed by Real Madrid for five seasons. As of today, though, the agreement has not been signed by the player even though he sees himself in the Spanish capital from the next season.

“They are staging a closed agreement with Mbappe. A person who has been with [Nasser] Al Khelaifi in Doha told me about it and they assure me that it is 100% closed,” journalist Tomás Roncero told SER.

“They all agree that it is closed. After 7 years, Mbappe has understood that to fulfil his childhood dream he had to lower his salary demands.

“All that remains is to make the agreement official because there is the possibility of a PSG-Real Madrid in the quarterfinals of the Champions League,” he added.

While the deal between Real Madrid and Mbappe is not officially signed yet, there is a private agreement in place.

Between his €14 million net per year, along with a €30 million bonus for five years, the contract will be one of the highest in European football history, totalling up to €500 million.

There are still some details to be worked out, such as the distribution of image rights between the player and the club, as well as the specifics of bonuses and incentives over the five-year contract.

Everyone at Madrid is aligned
Meanwhile, Mbappe is expected to wear the number 10 jersey next season, and it is speculated that Luka Modric may leave Real Madrid at the end of the season, making the Frenchman a suitable heir.

Despite the economic details being sorted out, there is no concern in the Real Madrid dressing room about his arrival, as it is anticipated that he will be at the top of the salary hierarchy.

The atmosphere in the team is good, and there is no expected disruption due to his joining, nor him being made the top earner once he arrives.
