Roma Set Deadline to Complete Duvan Zapata Signing
Serie A club Roma have decided to set a deadline to complete the signing of Atalanta striker Duvan Zapata.
According to a report by Gianluca Di Marzio, Roma management is still in the process of adding to Jose Mourinho’s attacking options this season and they have now set a 48-hour deadline to complete negotiations for Duvan Zapata.
A lack of agreement in recent days have brought the Giallorossi to this move as they have indicated to negotiate with Atalanta regarding the terms of the deal in the next two days. The capital club has also communicated internally that if a definitive agreement isn’t reached within the deadline, they will move on to pursue other options.
The injury of striker Tammy Abraham has created a void in the attacking department for Roma. Andrea Belotti scored a brace in the opening fixture of the Serie A against Salernitana but it wasn’t enough to cement his place as first-choice in the team. Jose Mourinho’s side are keeping tabs on the developments surrounding Chelsea’s Romelu Lukaku and will pounce on an opportunity if it arises in the late days of the transfer window.
