Andre Onana is ‘already fed up’ of Harry Maguire as he scolds Man Utd team-mate

July 31, 2023

Manchester United fans were all left saying the same thing after Andre Onana scolded Harry Maguire for his error against Borussia Dortmund.

Onana made his second appearance for the Red Devils since his £47million arrival from Inter Milan last night (July 30), coming on at half-time to replace Tom Heaton.

He was straight into the action after the restart and it was because of United sloppily conceding possession inside their own half, with Maguire playing a short pass to Donny van de Beek who gave the ball away.

Julian Brandt capitalised and played in Sebastien Haller for a one-on-one, but Onana got down well low to his left and stopped the shot before the rebound was put wide by Karim Adeyemi.

United’s new goalkeeper got straight up and made a beeline for Maguire, sprinting towards him and yelling with his hand up in the air. It was soon all over social media, with one fan tweeting: “Onana is already fed up with Maguire.”

A second wrote: “Two games in and Onana is already screaming at Maguire.” And a third similarly commented: “Onana realised that Maguire is a liability in only two matches.”

“Onana having a go at Maguire. I love him so much,” posted a fourth, while a fifth argued: “Onana screaming at Maguire. Maguire can never be change because he’s always Maguire. Time for him to leave.”

A sixth added: “My favourite moment of the match. Onana yelling at Maguire. This exactly what De Gea suffered at his hands, only difference is that De Gea never had the same commanding presence. Maguire needs to leave #MUFC. Sell him now!”

United went on to lose 3-2 to Dortmund. Diogo Dalot had put Erik ten Hag’s side in front, but two Donyell Malen goals in the space of a minute gave the Bundesliga outfit the lead.

Antony levelled things up seven minutes into the second half, but Youssoufa Moukoko netted a winner after both managers had made several substitutes.

Ten Hag and his squad will now be returning from the United States for their final two pre-season matches against Lens at Old Trafford on Saturday and Athletic Bilbao in Dublin on Sunday.
