Gabbia Leaves Milan and Joins Villarreal on a One-year Loan Deal

Matteo Gabbia has officially joined Villarreal, where he’ll play for a season.
Gabbia struggled for minutes at Milan last season and the player, together with the club, decided to send him on loan for the 2023/24 campaign, and today his move became official.
“Milan can confirm that Matteo Gabbia has joined Villarreal CF on loan, until 30 June 2024. The Club would like to wish Matteo all the best for the coming season,” a statement on Milan’s website reads.
Gabbia grew up in the youth sector of Milan and he made his debut for the Rossoneri in August 2017. He played 51 games in all competitions for Milan, scoring 1 goal. The center back will look to get consistent playing time in Spain and return to Red and Black stronger.
